What Hillsborough roofs are like.
Hillsborough is dominated by two-storey Yorkshire-stone terraces and back-to-backs from the 1890s to 1910s, with pockets of 1930s semis up towards Wadsley and Loxley. The terraces almost always have shared party-wall chimneys and steep slate pitches, which means slipped slates and failed lead valleys are the two calls we get most.

- Cracked cement fillets where terraces meet a neighbour’s roof, instead of proper lead soakers.
- Blocked and undersized valley gutters between the tight terraced pitches after heavy Loxley-valley rain.
- Shared chimney stacks with crumbling flaunching letting damp into the top bedrooms.
